Subject: [Pirate Pixies] Practices and Games
Hi everyone –
GAMES
We finally have our game schedule. We will be playing all our games on Saturdays at Mercer Middle School's 'Jefferson Field' (1600 S. Columbian Way 98108). It's close to the VA hospital. The schedule is on our website ( http://www.piratepixies.org ). There are at least 2 home games for which we'll need someone to referee. I will get those to you soon.
PRACTICES
Our practice schedule will be Tuesday 5-6:15 (with ISS coach) and Thursday 5:15 – 6:30pm – both at Thurgood Marshall School Field. I know this is a bit confusing, but it's an attempt to meet the scheduling needs of ISS and some of our families.
Our first practice is Tuesday, September 2nd. It will also be our first practice with our ISS coach. Saturday, September 6th will be our first game.
ROSTER
I've attached our current roster – let me know if there are any corrections or changes to your contact information.
COMMUNICATION
Ben sends this info for easy communication:
If you'd like to email the team you can do so (piratepixies@googlegroups.com )
You can also use team@piratepixies.org or team@piratepixies.com - these just forward to the googlegroups.com address.
If any girls want Pixies email addresses, Ben has offered to set this up, too.
Isn't he amazing?
MULA
Please write two checks in the next week to cover the ISS coach. You can give them to Ben or me.
1) $15 to Karin Hirschfeld (for $150 down payment)
2) $25 to ISS
SNACK SCHEDULE
We'll circulate that next week. Can someone take this on to cover all the games and remind people? Thanks!
THANKS!
I am excited to see everyone again and begin our season. How lucky we are to have such a great set of gals and families! If you have the time, dust off your soccer ball and practice a bit with your Pixie. This year's focus will be to get them to look up a little and see more of the field, find open space, and work on passing, receiving, dribbling, shooting and shielding. The most important part, of course, is for them to have fun and experience the benefits of working together well on a team. Yeah!
See you Tuesday – let me know if you have any questions.
Best,
Karin
